2018 Autumn Immunology Conference Award Opportunities
The Autumn Immunology Conference offers several awards. Some of these awards, including the John Wallace Diversity Scholarship and Arthritis National Research Foundation Travel Awards are available to help off-set the cost of attending the conference. Other awards, such as through AAI Young Investigator Awards, AAI Undergraduate Awards and Trends in Immunology Undergraduate Poster Awards, recognize scientific excellence by the young scientists attending the conference. Details for each award are below.
John Wallace Diversity Award
Available to minority graduate students or post-doctoral fellows (US citizen or residents only). Award includes $200 honorarium, up to three nights lodging (room only) at the conference host hotel, and an invitation to a special luncheon to meet current and past awardees. Application required.
ARTHRITIS NATIONAL RESEARCH FOUNDATION (ANRF) TRAVEL AWARDS
The ANRF will sponsor 3 travel awards of approximately $1000 each to cover registration and three nights accommodation at AIC. Potential awardees' research must be in arthritis, lupus, or in an autoimmunity-related field, and a first author abstract must be submitted for presentation at AIC. Preference will be given to recipients who otherwise would not be able to travel to AIC due to budgetary constraints. Graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early stage faculty are encouraged to apply. To apply, send your submitted abstract and a short statement regarding budgetary constraints to Kerry Empey at email@example.com. To learn more about ANRF, visit https://www.curearthritis.org/
National multiple sclerosis society (nmss) travel award
The NMSS will sponsor 5 travel awards of approximately $500 each to offset the cost of registration and accommodations at AIC. Potential awardees must submit a first author abstract for presentation at AIC and their research must be in the area of multiple sclerosis and/or mechanisms of autoimmunity. Preference will be given to students from laboratories with no, or limited, NIH funding. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who meet the above criteria are encouraged to apply. To apply, complete the form found in the link below and email it, along with any questions about the award, to Kerry Empey at firstname.lastname@example.org.
