AUTUMN IMMUNOLOGY ConFERENCE
AWARD OPPORTUNITIES
The Autumn Immunology Conference offers several awards. Some of these awards, including the John Wallace Diversity Scholarship and National Multiple Sclerosis Society Awards, are available to help off-set the cost of attending the conference. Other awards, such as through AAI Young Investigator Awards, AAI Undergraduate Awards, and Trends in Immunology Undergraduate Poster Awards, recognize scientific excellence by the young scientists attending the conference. Details for each award are below.
JOHN WALLACE DIVERSITY AWARD
Available to minority graduate students or post-doctoral fellows (US citizens or residents only). The award includes a $200 honorarium, up to three nights lodging (room only) at the conference host hotel, and an invitation to a special luncheon to meet current and past awardees. Application required.

IN ADDITION TO THE JOHN WALLACE DIVERSITY AWARD, THE FOLLOWING AWARDS WERE OFFERED AT AIC2023. YOU WILL BE IN CONTENTION FOR THE FOLLOWING AWARDS WHEN YOU SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT. NO APPLICATION IS NECESSARY.
AAI Young Investigator
Awarded to the first author of the top abstract in each Workshop category. Winners will be selected on the basis of the scientific content of the submitted abstracts, and we expect to name 20 AAI Young Investigator Awards in 2024. These awards are generously sponsored by the American Association of Immunologists. No application is necessary.
AAI Undergraduate awards
Awarded to the first author of the top undergraduate abstracts (submitted for poster only presentations). Awardees will be selected based on the scientific content and organization of the submitted abstracts, and we expect to name five AAI Undergraduate Awards in 2024. These awards are generously sponsored by the American Association of Immunologists. No application is necessary.
Trends in Immunology Awards
Awarded to three undergraduate poster winners. Award winners will receive a one-year subscription to Trends in Immunology. This award is generously sponsored by Cell Press. No application is necessary.
National multiple sclerosis society travel awards
The NMSS expects to sponsor five travel awards to offset the cost of registration and travel expenses required to attend AIC. First authors submitting top abstracts in areas of multiple sclerosis and/or mechanisms of autoimmunity for presentation at AIC will be considered. Preference will be given to recipients from labs with limited NIH funding. Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows will be considered. NMSS award winners will be announced at AIC on Friday evening. No application is necessary.
